Got back from Mexico three days ago. My head is still dizzy and full of all the amazing things I saw and felt. Mexico has a full range of habitats. Its landscape and wildlife are almost overwhelming. I travelled in Mexico for three weeks this time and that was not even nearly enough, considering also the fact that I had already been travelling there some time ago. Last time I went to Mexico City, Oaxaca, Taxco, Acapulco, Puerto Escondido and San Agustinillo.

This time my route began from Cancun, in continuation with Isla Mujeres, Valladolid, Tulum, Palenque, San Cristobal de las Casas, Veracruz, Xalapa, Coatepec, Tecolutla and finally Mexico City. The orange spots in the map below are my footsteps in México this time. To follow my route: Start from the right and go towards the final destination on the left: México City. Altogether 2440 kilometres on mexican buses.

Now when the trip is done, I would have to say that I if I was to do it all over again, I would go reverse on the direction; start from México City and ending up to the beaches of Isla Mujeres or Tulum.

And. To begin the story with. Here´s my checklist: Mexico:

- Waterfalls

- Caribbean Sea

- A night in a jungle with howler monkeys

- Mayan ruins

- equila & mescal

- Cara de calavera - Got my face painted with dia de muertos stuff

- A visit to cemetary during the Dia de los Muertos weekend

- Cenotes

- Snorceling with sea turtles and barracudas

- Mexican street food

- Chiles

- Live latin music

- Dancing in the streets

- Hammocks

- Frozen margaritas on a beach

- Nights on a bus

- Mangroves

- Fresh oysters in a river boat

- Boogie boarding in the Gulf of Mexico

- Lucha libre

***

Viva México - hasta la próxima!
